Trucksville Manor Apartments are owned and operated by ECUMENICAL ENTERPRISES, INC. (EEI), a non-profit corporation, established in 1968, with seed money contributed by the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes-Barre, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton, the Jewish Federation of Greater Wilkes-Barre, and the Metropolitan Lutheran council of Wyoming Valley. Trucksville Manor Apartments are for low and moderate income elderly with rentals subsidized through the USDA, Rural Development. The building contains 11 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom apartments, with one unit able to accommodate handicapped and disabled persons.


LOCATION

Situated one block off the Dallas-Harvey’s Lake Highway (Route 309) in Kingston Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, this apartment building was formerly the Trucksville Grade School, having been converted into apartments for the elderly. It is located in a residential section with a serene environment, yet conveniently near shopping areas, churches and public transportation.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must be 62 years of age or older, or in the case of a married couple, either spouse must be at least 62 or over. Handicapped and disabled persons as identified by USDA, Rural Development may also be eligible. Individual or family income must be within the prescribed limits established by USDA, Rural Development. All applicants must accept the terms of a written lease and related building regulations as prescribed by EEI and USDA, Rural Development. Final admission is based upon the above criteria without regard to race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.


MONTHLY RENTALS

Rentals are based upon 30% of monthly income, or basic rent, whichever is higher, but no higher than market rent. Tenant must pay for electricity, (heat, water and sewer are included).
